On the evening of Philadelphia society's esteemed historic Assembly Ball at the Bellevue Stratford Hotel, Jessica and Alex Rawlins are invited to a pre-ball dinner at the home of renowned archaeologist Benjamin Gladstone Whiffle for a viewing of his renowned collection of treasures from the biblical site of Sodom. Whiffle happens to be escorting Alex Rawlins’ favorite Aunt Annabelle to the Ball. Aunt Annabelle is found dead before she has her first dance, her body floating fully clothed in the bathtub of her room. Within minutes, Buster disappears from the hotel, raising both suspicion at his involvement and concern for his safety. As always, Jessica is called back into service by her former boss at the CIA to locate and save her cousin whose mysterious disappearance leads to the heart of the intrigues of the Middle East. What information can this loner from the Main Line have access to that al-Qaeda would use? Once again, Jessica’s savvy sophistication, intelligence and energy will be needed to save the family’s reputation and find the answers to an international mystery of immense importance.
